The Chorale is the largest musical group on campus. Ensembles are formed for further group work . The Chorale annually participates in the falllcctureship, presents a Christmas program - 'Twas the Night Before Christmas," - and takes a spring tour. The 1965 tours included the states of Arkansas, Tennessee, and Mississippi. Another music group serving the Harding campus is the Bison Band. Touring the United Stat~ Third Army bases in Decemher under Special Services sponsorship was a thrill for sell'Cted band members. They were accompanied by W. P. CampbelL USA Brig. Gen. (Ret .) and their director, G. E. Baggett. The five-state tour covered 2,400 miles and included ten performances. Special groups were formed within the band for variety numbers. These included a concert band, stage band, pep band, two ladies' quartets and a male quartet. In the fall, drum major Jerry Bolls led the band in precision marching at half-time foothall shows.
