Club preferences were turn ed in by each n ew student who wisbed to jo in a club. and bids were anxiou sly awaited by th e prospect ive pledges. The acceptance of bids bega n a long week of pl edging ac tivities. which included collec ting sign a tures on raw eggs and large pas teboa rd keys. writing themes. carry ing books in \\' as tebaskets, sa ndwich dates, and any th ing else to pl ease stern pledgemasters . The week \\'as climaxed by a rough night of initi a ti on when th e pl edgemas ters vented their gri eva nces aga inst th e lowly pl edges.
