Drawing top competitor s from three states, the TTardin~ Invitational Track Meet last spring was a top attraction in Arkansas. Fifteen hundred spectators witnessed an a lmost dead h ea t in the high hurdl es. Gaston T a rbet won the mile and, runnin ~ the best half mil e of hi s car eer, brillantly anchored th e Bi son 's Mile Medley Relay. Hardin g held the r ecord for this even t in 1960. Walker al so ti ed the AIC record in the low hurdles. Mick offered a bright spot in about mid-season as h e cleared 12' 6' for an unoffi cial school record. Jim Pratt improved in his broad jumping during the year ano. performed well in the AIC meet h eld at Alumn i Field.
