Hours of resea rch are a basi c part of the student 's work in lhe graduale program on the Harding campus in Searcy. With a minimum of eighl semester hours of residence credit, the graduate students can apply for admission to candidacy for the Masters of Arts Degrees in Teaching. Designed to enlarge and strengthen Harding's offerings in teacher training, it also attempts to meet the needs of teachers seeking advanced training. Admittance to the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools has aided the growth of the CUITent program. Today gradu ates of the school are filling important teaching and admini strat ive positions in public and Christian education. In 1955 Harding initiated an extension program for graduate work in Bible. In 1958 the entire graduate school of Bible was moved to Memphi s. Presently, courses are ava ilable in doctrinal, historical, practical and Biblical fields. Graduate degrees offered by the school are the Master of Arts, the Masters of Religious Education, and the Bachelor of Sacred Literature.
