1960-1961 Yearbook

Classes, though immensely valuable, do not educate the whole man. Principles, the basis for intelligent use of life situations, depend (except in an esthetic sense) on application for one to see them in perspective. Organizations provide the necessary experimental laboratory to satisfy the desire to see principle-in-action, and, in addition, certain facets of education that one would seldom get in a classroom. All are guided to some extent by a faculty advisor who has interest in the purposes of the organization. Development of leadership, of creativity, and of ability to serve rank high among desirable results of working in an organization. 121
