Pop com and cokes wer e supplied by th e sponsors for the girls to sna ck on. The pl edges, a fter a week of " freezing," and coll ectin g penni es were initi a ted informa lly at the home of Myra Cope, club president. At the beginning of the n ext week, forma l ini t ia ti on was held at ·the sponsor 's home. Old but usable toys were ta ken by the Sub-Debs during th e Chri stmas holidays to some poor children who live near Kensett . Their other major project wa s taking a box of food to a needy family in Morning Sun. March 23 was the day for the Sub-Deb's annual banqu et. Sea h orses, fis h, and sea shells portrayed their theme " Fantasy Benea th the Sea. " A meal of shrimp h elped to carry out their theme. Trea s.
