Last year 's winner, Ken Vanderpool. excelled in th e "Up" Contes t, winning chin-ups, push -ups and sit-ups, won th e Peg-B<1!lrd, and showed ama z ing accuracy in th e basketball events, which includes the Baske tball F ree Throw, Basketball Golf a nd Basket ball "21." In r ecognition of Ken 's feats. which are held in awe by other sportsmen, Ken was presented a trophy by Cecil Beck sh ortly before his gr adua tion at semes ter. Gera ld Ca sey sped around th e so ftball bases in a r ecord time of 10.15 seconds and won the Rope-Jumping contes t. Cl i ff Sharp won th e grueling Cross Country Run and Roger Brown cau ght second-place Fred Ma ssey after 1 \4 miles in the Australian Pursuit Race.
