Those of us who were working students knew what it meant to pass up a cherished activity because we had a responsibility to fulfill. We spent hours working when we'd much rather have been relaxing or sleeping-but as we worked, we received valuable lessons in responsibility, and we frequently felt the satisfaction which comes with achievement. 38
