o L D GIRLS' INTRAMURALS Along with the diligent work of Coach Berryhill stands the equally as efficient leadership of Miss Margaret Alston, physical education director for girls. With a program practically parallel to that )f the boys, Miss Alston has created intense .:Jterest in athletics among girls. In addition " softball. basketball, badminton, horseshoes, etc ., a vast program of swimming and ..f~saving is carried on by Miss Alston which has no equal in the state college ~lfcle5. Formerly 15 girls were to be selected for honors in athletics, but three girls tied for the 'ftPenth place and this boosted the total up , 17. Jackets were also given to the highest ve and medals for the lower 12. The five girls who achieved the title of outlanding athletes in school and who received awards are: Frances Williamson 38, Waila Floyd 37, Myrene Williams 35, Vern ice ",ford 31, and Valda Montgomery 29.
