I ARTICLE 1: CONSTITUTION OF REGINA Women's Social Club Chartered Fall 1947 (Revised Fa111999) The name of the organization shall be REGINA, taken from the Latin word meaning Queen. ARTICLE II: PURPOSE The purpose of the club shall be to promote high Christian ideals within our membership and those with whom we come into contact. ARTICLE Ill: SPECIFICS OF THE CLUB Section A- The colors shall be navy blue and white: white represents purity and virtue while blue symbolizes steadfastness and courage. Section B- The flower shall be the red rose for its sweetness and endurance. Section C- The motto is "Others Before Ourselves." Section D- The club scripture is Proverbs 31:10-12, 25-31: The Virtuous Woman. Section E- The Biblical model for the club shall be Queen Esther. ARTICLE IV: MEMBERSHIP Section A- Qualifications 1. The club shall be open to female students of Harding University who are eligible to commit to club induction in accordance with the University guidelines. 2. Prospective class 2 members must be approved by 3/4 majority of members in Regina. 3. After voting, all girls who meet the above guidelines shall be deemed class 2 members of Regina. In order to achieve the status of a class 1 member, inductees must successfully complete the Club Commitment phase of the induction process, as determined by the sponsors and officers. At the end of this process they shall become a class 1 member of Regina. 4. If a class 2 member fails to successfully meet the requirements of Commitment Week, she will remain a class 2 member for the remainder of the fall semester. A class 2 Member may not participate in any functions in which an active list is required to be submitted. (This does not include Thanksgiving Dinner or Mass Dates). A class 2 Member may not participate in any club sports or voting by the club. A class 2 member is required to pay dues equal to half the amount of a class 1 member. Attendance to all club meetings is mandatory; no unexcused absences are permitted. At the beginning of the spring semester, she will be eligible for a different class status, pending review by the executive council. Section B- Jumps 1. Jumps will only be admitted in the fall semester. University guidelines pertaining to jumps should be followed. 2. Anyone seeking to jump into Regina is required to visit the active members prior to voting. 3. Must be approved by a % majority vote. 4. Upon being voted into Regina, the Jump will be considered a Class 2 Member. She is required to attend all Induction Activities as a Class 2 Member and fulfill all Commitment Week obligations to obtain Class 1 status. 5. A Jump may not attend meetings until completion of the Induction process. Section C- Partially Active Members 1. Must be graduating in the school or calendar year coinciding with her partial activity, a graduate student, a 5th year or higher student (of senior classification) or a mother in order to be eligible. 1
