American Studies 1975-76

In a special effo~ to celebrate the Bicentennial year. Batdlng CoDcse's Amcricau Studies students will make a nine-day field trip to Washington, J;>.C., beginning March 19. Another highlight on the American Studia Wasbingtoo agcada is a meeting with members of the Arlcansu congressional delegation, including Senator Dale Bumpers and members of tbe House of Repre$entatives WUbur · D. Mills and Ray Thomton. The students wiD also attend a session of the U.S. Supreme Court and listen to an afternoon's case arguments. In addltion to visits to the Smithsonian Institute and Mt. Vernon, they wiD be able to see many of the well known national monuments around Washington before heading toward ~a and Valley Forge on the 26th. The group will stay at the– Freedoms Found~ facilities. Dr. Cox, Dr. DaYid Burks, head of Ranling's business and economics department, Dr. MiteO'Neal. assistant professor ·of boslness, and Dr. Joe Segraves, associate professor of history, will accompany the business and social science honor group. • I • WASHINGTON D.C.
