Winnie Bell Going Away Party

Winnie Bell Each of us has fond memories of Winnie and of Mildred Bell. When we came to Harding as freshmen in the fall of1948, they were well established on campus as friendly and outgoing seniors. Although we knew them, we did not have a close association with them during the intervening years.from 1948-1981. When we returned to Searcy in 1981 to begin working with African Christian Hospitals Foundation and with Harding Academy, we soon became re-acquainted with both of them, and the gap of those 33 years seemed to vanish. It was as though we had stayed in close contact with them throughout the years. Here in Searcy we soon became involved with World Bible School and discovered that the WBS authorities in town were Mildred and Winnie. They had thousands of WBS students in their home computer and had an effective system worked out for keeping records on each student, and for grading and mailing all lessons. They worked with a number ofpeople at the Downtown Church. · When we at College Church decided to increase our involvement with WBS, Winnie and Mildred were very helpful in getting us started They even computerized our WBS students and kept records for us until we had more than 1000 students. After Mildred's death, you, Winnie, have continued to be a friend and an inspiration to us. We will miss you and your warm, friendly greeting, and we pray that your move to Tennessee will be a blessing/or you. We wish you a blessed, happy Birthday. In loving respectfor a truly Christian woman, ~~ Glenn and Shirley Boyd
