Although.the finishing touches have not yet been applied to the new George ~– Benson Auditorium on the Harding campus, the school's 2,700 students, the administration, the faculty.. and staff gathered in one chapel assembly Thursday to begin the spring semester. President Clifton Ganus Jr. greeted the ·student body in the new facility. which -has been- under construction for more th8I) 7J> months, and, laughingly, said, ""Each one pinch his neighbor to make sure we're really finally here." - It was the first time since 1965 that the entire school could gather under one roof, · according to Ganus. He·explained tl\at several jobs must be completed· before the March 27 dedication of the $2.6 million auditorium. In addition to landscaping the surrounding grounds, carpet, wall decorations and chair arms must be put in place, and ~ins for the balcony classrooms must be reordered.
