I o.elieve you have never sought the acclaim of- men, and I think that for that reason this high honor is all the more appropriate. To me, you are what Harding is all about. I have been privileged to be, first, your student, then one of your faculty employees, and finally your colleague in Alpha Chi. Since we will continue our work ~ogether, this is not a farewell letter, but just a long overdue one of appreciation ~nd admiration. · Thank you for being such a splendid example to me and thousands of others over these years.
