Pryor Scrapbook Dr. Joe, 1986

·.. . CHRISTIAN FAMILY SERVICES, INC. February 25, 1986 Dr. Joe Pryor Harding University Searcy, Arkansas 72143 Dear Dr. Joe, As I blow the dust off the 1950 Petit Jean, I find myself blowing the dust off a great many memories . As I pore over its pages I find myself being transported back to a Harding of another time. I see pictures of people I've seen often and of those I've not heard of since. And I'm thankful for the heritage Harding gave me. Being the Business Manager for the 1950 Petit Jean was a really enriching and beneficial experience. Your patient guidance of Ruth Bomschlegel and me was much of what made it so. I'm sure that for you the editors, business managers , and editions of so many years all tend to run together, but not for all of us who had our one shot at it. I want to thank you for your staying in there with us. I well remember your doubts about some of our approaches and some of the debates we had with you. We were the first Harding annual to be printed offset. We dealt with a Mr. Maplesden (that's close, anyway) from Kansas City. Looking it over again, I'd say I'm still quite happy with the outcome. We were also the last to be printed with the 9" X 11" size. It was a lot of work for $150 but the real pay for the opportunity was rich indeed. I have always remembered you as one of my most respected Harding professors. I believe that as much as anyone I can think of you as exemplifying the spirit of what Harding was and is today. Thank you for your part of my heritage. yours, Roger W.
