Pryor Scrapbook Dr. Joe, 1986

Dr. Joe Pryor Harding University Searcy, AR 72143 Dear Dr. Pryor: 1240 SW 45 Oklahoma City, OK 73109 March 10, 1986 Congratulations on your many years of service to our Alma Mater! The friends who honor you in this book are united by the bond of their work on the Petit Jean and by the recognition of a debt to you which is beyond the possibility of repayment. In 1932 our book was small, as was Harding. At that time a forty- acre campus defined the property, with some five buildings to house our activities. My work in the college bookstore that year involved going to town (Morrilton) to get the afternoon mail - on roller skatesl Don't know how many errors surfaced in that 1932 Petit Jean, but I'll never forget that beneath the editor's senior class picture the name of his Canadian hometown was misspelled. How embarrassing! \ Whatever mer t that volume may have, whatever enjoyment it may have brought to the members of the class that produced the 1932 edition, they are largely the result of the wisdom and dedication of the sponsor, Retta Scott Garrett. No one can so well appreciate the contribution of the sponsors to the year book production as those who were honored to be the editors, business managers, and photographers of each edition. In your case, these well-deserved plaudits are multiplied by the number of years dedicated to our Alma Mater. Very sincerely, George W. E Editor, 1932
