Pryor Scrapbook Dr. Joe, 1986

March 12, 1986 Dr. Joe Pryor Harding College Searcy, AR 72143 COMMUNICATION MANAGEMENT, INC. P.O. Box 3242 Lawrence , Kansas 66046 Dear Joe and Bessie Mae, The years have passed quickly since I was at Harding, but each time that I have seen the two of you, you both seem to have remained eternally young. Congratulations! I regret that I am unable to join you in this special PETIT JEAN REUNION; it would be fun to tell you in person how much you have contributed to the university and to those of us who had the privilege of working closely with you. Your dedication and your kindnesses have been much appreciated. Some of my best memories about being editor of the yearbook are things that you never knew (thank goodness); therefore, I cannot share those with you. However, one of the things that I thought that your most recent editors would appreciate is the following. If one looks closely at the draped attire on some of the queen attendants for 1958, one becomes aware that some of the drapes are rather unusual. The reason is that certain people (Joe Pryor?) thought that too much shoulder was showing so the photographer literally painted a drape on them. My, how times have changed! I enjoyed my years at Harding immensely, but I have never been one to look back longingly. The present is much too interesting, and I look to the future enthusiastically. May you and Bessie Mae continue to do the same. My very best regards, Cal Downs Cal W. Downs
