Pryor Scrapbook Dr. Joe, 1982

Harding University August 1, 1982 Dr. Joesph E. Pryor, Dean Harding University Searcy, AR 72143 Dear Dr. Pryor: Educating for Eternity I am happy to join with the other former members of the TNT Social Club in this special recognition of your many years of service as a sponsor for the TNT. organi– zation, as well as your lifetime service to Harding University. The commitment that you have demonstrated over the last several decades has been an encouragement to me since I first came to Harding as a student 20 years ago. I know that in this scrapbook you will find many letters which are reminiscent about rather personal relationships that you have had with TNT members over the years. While we never have developed that close relationship, I do want to tell you that you have rather unknowingly been one of the primary factors in the decision making process that has led me to be and to remain at Harding. Near the end of the school year in 1966, I recall that you called a meeting upstairs in the Ganus building, which was then our student center, to which you invited a number of students to discuss the Danforth Fellowships. I don't remember too much about the meeting, however I do remember feeling honored that you thought enough of my capabilities to include me in the group of students whom you thought had the potential to be successful teachers in the college environment. While I did not immediately go to graduate school at that time, I always kept in the back of my mind a plan to return to graduate school which, thanks be to God, ultimately materialized and eventually ended up in my returning to Harding to teach. I have always appreciated the nature of your commitment to the principles for which Harding stands, and have admired your tireless effort on her behalf. May God bless your work -- in whatever you are involved -- in the years to come. Christ, (501) 268-6161 • Station A • Searcy, Arkansas 72143
