• • • October, 19 84 Dear Bessie Mae., I'm so proud of "our" club, Regina, choosing to honor you with this special booklet and gift You are so special to me.. I'll never forget my 1 1/2 years at Harding. I found Bill and so many other things too, that have been with me. all these years. Seems like the fall of '59 was only a few years ago. You and Dr. Joe were always there and had so much kindness and help for Bill and I when we were so young and needed your help. I'm sure I wasn't the only young woman you ever helped or counceled however, you always made me feel I was so impor t ant and you had plenty of time for me . We. had so much fun eating and having a sleep-over at your "new" house, Petit Jean picnic, 3rd Function of having a Hobo - cook out and eat- ing chili out of tin cans, reciting Prov. 31 for installation and candle- lite ceremony, wearing our Regina "crowns", and you had a way of making us f eel like queens, especially after roughh initiation. Even though you were a ver y busy Mother with three children, and Susan a baby, you some. how ma.de. special time for college girls. I 've learn- e.d much from watching and listening from you. You. really have enriched my life and made it better for having known you. Thank you so much and so glad we.' ve always been friends and in a special way. Love. you, Mary Jane Hunter Mary Jane (Turner) Hunter - Class '63
