Pryor Scrapbook Bessie Mae, 1984

• • • Septemner 22,1984 Dear Bessie Mae, How very much I would like to be there to help all the Reginas celebrate and say a special "thank you" on Homecoming '84! But since it is impossible, I am happy that I can write you this letter that will be included in your special booklet. I cannot imagine Harding Days without remembering the Reginas and you! Our club was my family at school and I shall always remember it as such. All the times you and Dr. Joe had us into your home helped any feelings of homesickness dis– appear. I remember how lonely a dorm and cafeteria can seem at times- cold and impersonal. You opened your home and even shared your precious children with us. How many cups of spiced tea would you estimate that you have made and served through these 30+ years? The goodies served along with the tea weren't bad either! Ha When I think of "Regina" several memories come to mind: Rush Week (I haven't swallowed a raw egg since.), the crown I wore with pride, the very beautiful initation ( Worthy Woman scripture memorized), the slumber parties, sisters, and, of course, our special "Mother", Bessie Mae. Thank you for listening to all our problems about boyfriends, etc! My experiences, lessons learned, and spirital growth at a Christian college such as Harding cannot have a price tag attached, but if it could, I would be indebted to you for a big part of that expense. The good that you have done for so many young ladies through the years cannot even be counted. With all sincerity I must tell you that I always thought of you as "The Worthy Woman" that we talked about and tried to imitate. Thank you for this fine Christian example. My prayer is that you and Dr. Joe will continue to have good health and be able to continue to be to Harding students what you were to me. My life was blessed having known you. In Christian love, Rosemary Fry Class of '58
