Dear Bessie Mae, Carol Lewey 907-A Springville Boulevard Oneonta, Alabama 35121 205-274-0511 June 8, 2008 When I think of you I think of the following: Sweet and Kind Loving Beautiful - in every way Generous Untiring Gracious Talented - in so many things Consummate Homemaker Energy Loving Wife Loving Mother Loving Friend Perfect Example to Follow Caring Comfortable Calming Interested Interesting A Wonderful Christian Example I got to know you first through Beverly Jo and then more so through Susan when I "b abysat" her for you all ofwhich led to a great friendship with you and your family. Remember t hose wonderful times we had: helping with some project you were working on; walking a round Harding Drive at 10 pm when weather allowed; watching the Miss America pageant e ach year, me learning to like spinach, eggplant, and squash which you cooked especially for me one day to show me how good they were; parties at your house (remember when Cliff III broke y our table when we were playing Spoons!); looking for Princess and playing with her; and just s imply sitting and talking. Your home was always open to anyone and everyone felt welcome and comfortable t here. I remember how Dr. Joe would sit in his chair in the back comer of the den working on some papers while you, Beverly Jo, Susan, and I went about doing whatever we were doing - watching TV , working on something, or just talking or watching the dogs play. Everyone now and then we'd make enough noise or commotion that would cause him to look up at us and thenjust give a little smile at us. What fun times those .were! Words cannot express how dear you are to me and how much I appreciate your taking me under your wing and letting me be your friend. You and Dr. Joe were such positive influenc es, not
