What a joy it is to honor you on your 85th birthday! It is the perfect opportunity to convey to you how much your life has . impacted mine. I will always be grateful to you for being so loving, hospitable and transparent with me. Although I know you have touched the lives of hundreds, you always made me feel as if I was special. Thank you! In actuality, you were special to me! You prepared me for marriage, you prepared me for motherhood by adoption and you prepared me for motherhood of a son who descended into drugs. Over the years you have continued to model the Power and Perseverance of Love. I think fondly of the times in your home, the times spent dreaming about our wedding, and I thank you again for making those dreams a beautiful reality.
