' March 25, 2008 Mrs. Bessie Mae Pryor THE Regina Queen cf o Susan Hodges 4088 Ridgefiled Court West Lafayette, IN 47906 Dear Bessie Mae: I cannot believe that you are 85 years old! I cannot believe I am 55 years old! We were both a lot younger in 1971 when I was pledged and inducted into Regina. I knew that I would survive pledging because of you. You would not let those mean Regina's do real harm to us neophyte pledges. :) I am Donna Bates Kent. I was in Regina from 1971-1975. My mother is Betty Spruell. She was not happy when I pledged Regina over JuGoJu, but she f inally came around because you were the sponsor! You were a great influence on al l of us. Your grace and charm were the first things that struck me. Then it was your abil ity to cook anything and make it look gourmet. You did it in a seemingly effortless wa y. Your ability to arrange flowers and do crafty things was amazing. I remember y ou talking about driving through the country side and making Dr. Joe stop the car so you could cut cat tails from a ditch so you could use them in decorations. You were the tota l package to me. I looked up to you, respected you and loved you. You always had an easy smile or comforting hug for all of us and you made us all feel special. I married Steve (Goose) Kent in 1975 and we haven't looked back! We have three grown children; David is 29, married to a wonderful woman; twins, Adam and Aaron are 23. They are both in school and working. Steve is a high school Engli sh teacher, basketball coach and track coach at Warren Central High School in Indianapolis, IN. {I can't believe Susan lives in West Lafayette!) I have worked at Ind iana University Purdue University in Indianapolis (IUPUI) for 20 years in the Facility department as the assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Facilities. I am the special event plann er (always loved to party!) and the department's communications manager. I hope your birthday is filled with joy and the pleasure of knowin g how much you are loved by so many! May God continue to bless you with His love.
