Pryor Scrapbook Bessie Mae, 2008
March 24, 2008 Dear Bessie Mae, Claudia Bates Boswell 47 W065 Kelley Road Hampshire, IL. 60140 cboswell2@sbcglobal.net (847) 683-4878 How wonderful it is for you to be celebrating your birthday with your Regina "girls"! I was a Regina during the same time as Susan, and some of my fondest memories are of my time as a Queen. Actually my first date with my husband, David, was on February 13, 1974 at the Regina Banquet. That was truly a day that was important in my own, personal history. I believe that you may remember my mom, Betty Spruell Bates, and some of the fun times you and she shared at Harding when you were both students. (I think it always disappointed her a little bit that neither my sister, Donna, nor I were Ju Go Ju girls, but she was somewhat appeased because you were Regina's sponsor. :0) Mother also had fond memories of Dr. Joe, and whenever she shares her memories of Harding, he is always remembered as one of her finest teachers. That was way back in the early 1940' s. Your history with Harding folks has spanned a long time, and your influence is well known. I hope you have a wonderful birthday with your family and friends. I would love to be there, but am busy working on earning my doctor's degree in educational leadership, and my time is very limited. David and I are living in one of the northwest suburbs of Chicago, and he still treats me like a Queen, even after 33 years of marriage! :0) Please know that I will be there in spirit, though, and I wish the best for you and your family! Love, Claudia Bates Boswell Class of 1977
