Pryor Scrapbook Bessie Mae, 2008

Dear Mrs. Pryor, As a member (1957 - 1961) and president of Regina (1960 to 1961), I well remember the wonderful times we had and the many things that we all learned from you. Your example to ea ch of us was that of a classy lady, full of compassion an d understanding and always with impeccable manners. Those days seem far a way for me now, as I am now 68 years old and finally fully retired. After graduate school at the University of North Texas, I was fortunate to teach one semester at Abilene Christian College in the Music Department. I married and moved to Mobile, Alabama, where I have remained since 1963. I served as a teacher, instructional specialist, and assistant principal in the pu blic schools for twenty-seven and a half years. Then I was blessed to join the faculty at Mobile Christian School, where I taught English, elementary music, 8th grade general mu sic, High School Music Appreciation, and even H.S. A cappella Chorus for sixteen years. I also taught night classes as adjunct instructor at Faulkn er University, Mobile campus. After 44 years, I was exhau sted, so it was time for full retirement. My husband died in 1988 suddenly, so I live alone. Both of my sons work closeby in law enforce ment. Daryl is a state trooper and Robert is a police officer/supervisor of traffic at Mo bile Area Airport. Robert is in the Army Reserve and wil l leave for Afghanistan for 13 months, so please remember him in your prayers. I have one grandson and one granddaughter, both of who m fill me with joy. I am so sorry that I will be unable to be there for your birthday. One of the things I remember in Regina is that we each had to remember th e "worthy woman" passage in Proverbs. You are a true example of the worthy woman and I treasure the four years that I was privileged to know you!
