Pryor Scrapbook Bessie Mae, 2008
Dear lovely, gracious Bessie Mae, Happy 85th Birthday! Thank you for the wise Christian mentoring that you provided for me and my Regina club sisters during th e time that we were privileged to be at Harding from 1952-56. My! How the years have flown! There are so many memories - some dimmer than o thers by now - but you always gave us wise counsel whether it concerned our behaviour, a new Regina pledge or the conduct of a Regina club meeting . You taught us to appreciate the blessings of being at Harding. On a personal note - my first knowledge and memory of you came through my sister, Mary Katherine King Moody, who was at Harding from 1947-1950. She was one of the first Reginas and instilled in me a desire to be a Regina and a respect and love for you , even before I came to Harding! My husband, Don Brown, and I have always loved and admired you and Dr. Joe and felt your influence in our lives. You blesse d us by attending our wedding in Brownsville, Tennessee, on June 2, 1956. We were encouraged by your example to adopt our first two children. Thank you for providing a godly example for us. Like so many others, we miss Dr. Joe. The verses in Proverbs 31 fit you so well! Those of us who have been the recipients of your wisdom and gracious counsel hav e indeed been blessed to have found a worthy woman , and your worth to us is above the price of rubies! Thank you and may God bless you. In Christian love, JoAnne King Brown, Regina 1952- 56 809 Castle Road Bartlesville, OK 74006
