• • The West Side Church of Christ was the setting at 2:30 p.m. August 11 for the wedding of Miss Louise Truex, daughter of William E . Turex of Route 1, Jerusalem, Ohio, and Ronnie Gene Bradford; son of Mrs. Billie Bradford of Route 1, Bee Branch. Louis Butterfield was the officiating minister and nuptial music was provided .by singers from Harding University, directed by Jeff ]topper. · The .bride wore a gown of white qiana knit, featuring an empire waist, lace trimmed bodice, high neck with a chiffon inset, long sleeves and a long train of lace trimmed in qiana. She wore a hat of chiffon trim– med with lace and carried a bouquet of peach •colored roses and azaleas. Alice Sorrells of Memphis wa~ maid of honor and bridesmaids were Carolyn Driver of Kensett, Debbie Turex of Columbus, Ohio and •Debbie Houck of Conway. Candlelighters we're Robert Turex of Columbus, Ohio and Mark Truex of Route 1, J erusaiem, brothers of the bride, who also served as ushers along with Carl Tomason and Gordon Bradford, both of Route 1, Bee Branch. Misty Ward of Bee Branch was flower girl and Joshua Ward, also of Bee Branch was ring bearer. Dannie Bradford of Clinton served as best man and groomsmen were Jupior Manes of Greer's FetfY, Mike Moore of Quitman and Jeff Houck of Conway. Serving at the reception following the ceremony in the .fellowship hall of the church were Pat Bradford of Clinton, Cathie Smith, Eileen Weed, Diane Sosebee, Bessie Mae Pryor, Nancy Clark and Barbara Statom, all of Searcy. . Nancy Leslie of Searcy presided at the bride's book. 1 . ' . The couple is residing at 1 Route 1, Bee Branch, where Mr. Bradford is engaged in poultry farming and is employed at Arkansas Children's Colony. Mrs. Bradford is . the nursing_ 1 instructor at Harding 1 University. : BRIDE-ELECT ~ Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lamar t(\~ Vinson announce the ·engagement and .~ approaching marriage of their daughter, Kristie Lynn to Giles Alvis Sexton Jr., son of Dr. and 'Mrs.- G. A. Sexton of Forrest City, Arkansas. Miss Vinson is the granddaughter of Mrs. Ruby Harris and the late F. S. Harris and Mrs. Thelma Vinson and the late Roy L. Vinson, all of Searcy. She attends Harding University and is employed by First National Bank. The prospective groom attends Harding University and is a member of Sub T-16 social club. The wed.ding wlll be solemnized December 22 at 6:30 p.m. at -the Downtown Church of Christ in Searcy. Miss Cindy Lynn Allen, daughter of Mr. ancl Mrs. Jimmy Allen, and Jeffrey Ford Payne, son of Mr. • and Mrs. Clifford Payne of Toledo, Ohio, .were married at 7 p.m., Saturday, August 25, at the College Church of Christ on East Race Avenue. The double-ring ceremony was performed by the ~ride's father. The couple exchanged vows before a fifteen– branched candle arch, flanked by floor baskets of fern_ and seven-branch candelabra. Fifteen-branch spiral candelabra were used , "",,at ihe foot of the side steps · and smaller baskets of fern were used on each side of the stairs at the end of the aisle. Hurricane lamps with burgundy bows marked the pews. Music was provided by the Harding Acappella chorus under the direction of Dr. Kenneth Davis. · Escorted by her father, the bride wore an empire gown of organza over taffeta. The chapel length circular skirt was edged with alencon lace. The fitted bodice trimmed in lace featured a high neckline and the sheer full ueeves ended wi..-i · lace trimmed cuffs. Her illusion veil, trimmed ~th lace medallions, ··was secured to c!o~he headpiece. She carri~ a bouquet of red .roses ·and stephanotis, in– terspersed with · baby's breath. Miss Rose Marie Adams of ' Beamsville, Ontario, Canada, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Julie Ellis and Jana Altman of Searcy, Judy Craft of Memphis, and Ivy Payne and Gwyn Payne of Toledo~ Ohio, sisters of the groom. The bridesmaids were dresse'd identically in burgundy blouson qiana go\'1118 featuring full three– quarter length sleeves, a seH fabric yoke, covered buttons and belt. Each carried an American beauty · rose– accented with baby's breath. The flower girl was Anna Jones of Geneva, Swit– zer~nd, cousin of the bride. She wore a burgundy gown similar to that ' of the bridesmaids and carried a white wicker basket filled twith rose petals. The groom's brother, Mike l . Payne of Indianapolis, Indiana, served as best man. (· Groomsmen were Terry Bauer and Ron Mccance of Toledo, Ohio, Mike Foster and Paul Littrell of Atlanta, Georgia,- Doug Morris of Midland, Texas and Jimmy Allen and Mike _4 )le.u brothers or: life bride. They wore red roses in the lapels of their gray pinstriped tuxes. Registering the guests ·at two tables in the foyer were Mrs. Brenda Seawel of Searcy ~nd Miss Janet Arnold of San Clemente, California. Matching silver candlesticks were used on the round tables. M;rs. Allen chose .for her daugher's wedding a tw~ piece beige knit dress featuring a lace .trimmed open weave yoke of the same color. Mrs. Payne wore , two-piece mauve qiana dress. The pullover top gave it a blouson effect. They each wore a white orchid corsage. · Honor guests were Mrs. E,stella McCluggage of Winfield, Kansas, grand– mother of the bride, and Mr. and Mrs. Corbett Johnston of Newport, grandparents of the groom. Mrs. Joe Pryor directed the wedding, and Mrs.' Floyd Daniel was in charge of the r~ption. The r~eption was held in the fellowship room. The bride's table was overlaid with , a white lace cloth. It was decorated with two five branch· silver · candelabras and a centerpiece with an arrangement of flowers. The . groom's table 1 was overlaid with white lace over a burgQndy cloth. It was decorated . with an arrangement of roses and baby's breath flanked by two silver holders holding burgundy candles. The scalloped ttiree:-tiered wedding cake and the Bible shaped groom's cake were made by Mrs. Dean Curtis. Fresh flowers were placed in the center of the bride's cake. Kathy Cannon and Pam Aaron served the cake. Belinda Segraves and Mona Shack~lf.ord · poured the punch. Janet Kirby and Debbie Robbins served at the groom's table. Others assisting were Betty Dillin, Cheri Lewis, Janet · Arnold and Brenda Seawel. After a trip to Fairfield Bay, Mr. and Mrs. Payne will be at home on East Market Avenue. They will both be continuing their studies at Harding.
