Dr. Zelma Bell Green, 63, a well-known educator, author, and former Dean of Women at Harding College, died last night at 11:30 p.m. at a local hospital following an extended illness. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Oee Green a clinical psychologist at the Veterans Administration Hospital; a daughter, Carol who is a student at Harding College; two sisters, VMan Fraser of Batesville and Mary Johnson of Vicksburg Michigan; three brothers, o'. K. Bell of Cocoa, Floria, ·a. B. Bell of Poteau, Oklahoma, and Charlie Bell' of South Carolina; and a. nephew, Bill Bell of Connecticut. Dr. Green was a native of Pine Bluff. Christian, Dr. Green dedicated her life to te,acbing and helping young people. A 1938 graduate of Harding, she received her master's degree from Columbia University and the doctorate from the University of Denver specializing in psychology and education. During her career, Dr. Green taught at every level of education, from k'in– dergarten to doctoral can– didates. She taught in the Arkansas public schools, was Dean of Women at · Harding from 1947-51, and served on the faculty of tep colleges and universities. An eminent counselor and educator, she was :recogltized nationally by Who's Who of American Women. From 1954 to 1956, Dr. Green was a staff member of the Arkansas Experiment in Tea her Education in Little R and later served as dir ctor of tl Special Education Center for Exceptional Children in • e.
