April , 1955 Whitaker-Harris Vows To Be Said in Searcy The engagement and approach– ing marriage of Miss Mary Ann Whitaker to Jack Davis Harris, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Harris of Walnut Ridge, is announced to- day by her mother, Mrs. Margaret Whitaker of Memphis, Tenn. Sunday, MISS JANICE JEAN MYER'S engagement to Rich– ard Earl Burt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde N. Burt of Bastrop, La., is announced by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Franklin Myer of McGehee. The bride-elect is in the business office at Harding College, where her fiance is a premedical student. The wedding is to be in the late summer. The bride-elect was graduated from Central High School in Memphis, and received her BA degree from Harding College in Searcy. She attended graduate school at the University of Arkan– sas in Fayetteville, and the Uni– versity of Oklahoma in Norman, where she held a teaching assis– tantship. At Harding, Miss Whit– aker was president of the Regina Social Club, a member of Alpha Honor Society, editor of the col– lege newspaper, and was elected to Who's Who in American Uni– versities and Colleges. She is presently director of publicity and publications at Harding College. Mr. Harris graduated fro m Jonesboro High School, and re– ceived his degree from Harding College. Watson of 790 Millstead Road announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Tanya Watson, to Herbert Loyd Stewart of Bergheim, Texas, son of Mr. and Mrs C. E . Stewart of Lubbock, Texas. Miss Belue, Mr. Norwood To Wed In November Miss Ann Belue, daughter of Mrs. C. P. Belue, Sr. and the late Mr. C. P. Belue, Sr., of Earle, Ark., will be wed August 9 to Harold Norwood, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Norwood of East St. Louis. Ill. Miss Belue is a physical edu- cation major at Harding and is president of the Regina Social Club. Mr. Norwood is a member of the Sub T-16 social club and par- ticipated in inter-collegiate bas- ketball.
