Each member had brought a basket1of fruit and these will be taken to the Sidney Nursing Home by Mrs. Herben Mishler and her Garden Therapy Committee as our Thanksgiving remembrances. Mrs. Ralph Entwistle had made the monthly flower .arrange– ment with purpk, yellow _and white chrysanthemums in an old brass. vase set on an old piece of teak, enhan ed by a green-gold brocade foundation. . · ~ The Cherokee Village Garden Club will have a Christmas Ti:>Ur of five homes on Su~day December 7th from one to 5 PM. :Mrs. Morgan Yost reported excellent progress being made by the five committees and ticket sales headed by Mrs. Sam Wells going well A donation of $2. 00 is for the Club"s civic projects and tickets are available from members or at 1ny one of the five homes the day of the Tour. Tea will b'e ser– ved at a Townhouse. The Club's next monthly meeting will be Monday Decem- ber 16th and will _be a white elephant gift exchange Chri~tmas party for mem"bers and a Gift Wrapping Contest. The draw– for the raffle winner from the House Tour will also be bis meeting._ Valerie Maureen Markley · and Alan Wade Harris were · ' united in marriage on Aug. 26 in the Downtown Church of Christ in Searcy, A"rk. 1'i J1111.. Ken Neller officiated. The bride is the daughter. of Mr. and Mrs. Merle Markley . of R. 1, McCune. Mr. and Mrs. · Bill R. Harris of Huntsville, Al·a., are parents of the ~ridegroom. A cappella soloists for the :· ceremony were Alan Harris and Natalie Dooley. They were accompanied by Byron · Howell, Dennis D venport, Ken Dowdy and Charles Ganus,backupVO<:~.ts~ . The bride, given in ~ marriage by her father, wore a formal gown uf marocaine and re-embroidered lace. The high-rise bodice was designed with a scoop neckline and Victorian sleeves. Bridesmaids were Pam Cheney, Simi, Calif., Slieila Markley, McCune, and Beth Culverhouse, Nashville, , Tenn. ~ The bridegroom was at- , I tended- by Bill Harris of Huntsville as best man. groomsmen were Darrel Markley, 'McCune, Doug Cave and David Ijams, both of Searcy. Assisting at the reception in the church basement were Mrs. Joe Pryor, Beverly Dowdy, Mrs. Dwayne James, Mrs. Mike Lucas, Mary Petty ·and Joyce Palmer. The bride and bridegroom are both 1975 graduates of Harding College in Searcy, Ark. The bride is a graduate of McCune High School and earned her bachelor's degree in psychology. The bridegroom received his bachelot 's degree in general science and will be--a– pre-veterinary medicine stude~t at Auburn University, in Ala. After a wedding trip to the Gulf of Mexi~o, the couple will live at 201 Elm St., Apt. 2, Auburn, Ala .
