Morgan, past Coun- I I ell president, was the.installing ! officer and presented each with I a carnation in a color representa– tiv:e of the respective officers. 1 The retiring officers, which m- clude Mrs. Grady Arthur, vice president, and Mrs. Carthel An– gel, secretary-treasurer, were hostesses at a coffee for all members of the five garden clubs in the city following the cere– mony. The serving table was cov- ered with a green linen cloth cen– tered with. an arrangement of daisies. Mrs. Pryor poured at the punch bowl. Mrs. Pryor made appointments for the remaining slate of of– ficers to include Mrs. George Benson, historian, Mrs. Wayne Kellar, reporter, and Mrs. Car– michael, parliamentarian. During the business meeting, Mrs. Pryor introduced the Coun– cil Flower Show Chairman, Mrs. A.G. Johnston, whoreportedthat 1 the fall show will be October 7 in the Angel Building of the First ·united Methodist Church. Mrs. Mac Angel, schedule chair– \man, said the schedules would be ready for distribution next week. Mrs. Carmichael reviewed the activities of her term of office; a flower show school. sponsor– ship of the film, "World of the Little," Arbor Day celebration . , hosting of State Fall BoardMeet- ing for the past two years, an– nual Outdoor Decoration contest, flower shows, assistance in or– ganization of Garden Club in Bald Knob. Mrs. Pryor reminded mem– bers of the Fall Board Meet– ing to be held September 30 at the Marion Hotel in Little Rock. The next council meeting wilJ be in Septembef..~SO. e ec1., :!": 18, COUNCIL TO INSTALL NEW OFFICERS, HOLD .COFFEE AND RECEPTION Mrs. J. E. Pr yor will be in– stal led as president of the Sear- cy Council of Garden Clu~s at a meeting Friday at the home of Mr s . Leslie Carmichael. Follow- ing the Council meeting,' Mrs. Carmichael, retiring Council president, will host a coffee and reception for the new officers. The Council delegates will meet at 9: 30 a. m. for a brief business meeting and Mrs. Car– michael has urged all delegates to attend. At 10 o'clock all mem– bers of the five garden clubs in the city have been invited to at– tend the coffee. Oth·er new officers are Mrs. {R. E. Elliott, vice president, arid Mrs. J. G.
