"What A Whopper" This 10 ft. 8 inch alligator was recently caught the middle of August at the lower end of the .reservoir. Compalints from residents in the Glen Cove Subdivision led to the capture of this 500 lb. alligator. Those who helped in he capture were Joe Richardson of Pelahatchie Bay, J. W. Renfrow, game warden of Rank.in Co., Tex Eure, game warden of Rankin Co. Dr. Herrington and his two sons, Bobby Roy Herrington of Pelahatchie Bay. These men worked two nights to get him. After his capture the alligator was released in the Pearl River on Lakeland Drive. It took four hours to get into the river. The only way they could get him was to put smoke up his nose with a long pole they had.
