Under lhe direction of Dr. Billy Ray Cox, the week-long seminar is jointly sponsored by the Harding allege American Studies Program, Civitan In– ternational and the Arkansas Farm Hureau. ) c On the program are Dr. Walter Judd, former U.S. Congressman from Minnesota; Roger Staubach, quarterback for the Dallas Cowboy's professional football team, wri Cox, winner of the 1975 Freedoms Foundation award in student public address; Cmdr. Stephen Harris of the U.S. Navy and Vo Thanh Due, a refugee of the Vietnam conflict. Today's schedule was opened by Harding President Dr. Clifton L. Ganus at 9:25a.m. discussing "Understanding and Preserving our American Heritage." At 11:20 a.m. Dr. Cox presented "Comparative Economic Systems." Ganus spoke again at 2 p.m. on "What Then is The American, This New Man?" At 7 p.m. a film "Faith in Ourselves" will be presented and at 7:30p.m. Dr. Judd will deliver a lecture. At 9 p.m. Harding's singing trio, "The Time of Day" will present a performance for the seminar students. Tomorrow's program · will highlight Dr. Judd and Miss wri Cox. Dr. Judd will speak at from 9-10:30 a.m. and 11:20 a.m. 12:30 p.m. Miss Cox will speak at 2 p.m. and from 2:30- 3:30p.m. Dr. Cox will show a film "Future Shock" and conduct a discussion after the viewing.
