They will be in– itiated at the end of this term if they complete the requirements for membership by that time. They were welcomed at aparty Monday evenin'g at 7:30 in the 'Emerald Room. Betty Ulrey was in charge of the program. She was assisted by Mrs. w: K. Sum– mitt and Mrs. L. C. Sears. Evan Ulrey ,had charge of the party games. Eileen Snure and Dixie Smyth did a cutting from "Mary, Queen of Scots," :and Miss Snure as– sisted by Mrs. Summitt at the piano gave a musical reading en– titled "Katydid." Bill Summitt played several violin selections including "Two Guita1~" He was accompanied by ; his mother, Mrs. Summitt. Sarah Kerr Sears, accompaniro \ by her sister, Cynthia Kerr, sang a soia. . . - . Several faculty members aud Ufe1r respective wives and husbands were there. There are five students n.o\\' in the east, Don Gat'Jler, P1·esid·ent, Dixie Smyth, Audrey McGuire, Beily Thom– lon, and yours tnt]y. Sears, Mrs. Stunmilt, and Retty Uh·ey Campus -Players To Present Special Program On Thm'sday evening at 6:00. the Campus J!>layers will present a special_ program for the mem– ,hers 'of -th·e Dramatic club. This event is .to be procfuced in the high school a!-lditorium, and vis– .ittors are inVited· to ·attend. Selections on the program in- ' elude scenes from: "Accent on Youth" (Cliff Seawel, Charla .: Cranford); "Beyond the Horizon" I <Ruby Lee Ellis, Bill Williams); "Taming of the Shrew" (Mary Lou Johnson, Meredith Thorn); 1 "Petrified Forest" (Audrey Me-l Guire); "The Heiress" (Patti Mat~ to.x, Eileen Snure); and "Stage Door," (Jessie Lou Smith, Wanda , Farris, Jack Plummer, Bill Sum· mittl. Other members taking part on the ·program will be Shirley Sud– derth, &ira· Copeland, Benny Hol– land, and Betty Thornton. All those_ participating are Campus Player members, and the pro– gram is under the direction of Eileen Snure. 'Trifles' To Be Given fer -Dramatic Club~ The one-act play, "Trifles," di· rected by Pwtti Mattox will be )presented at the Dramatic Club meeting May 10. The play centers around the suspect of a murder case and her last oc::::upation: sit– ting s'ilently in a rocking chair. The case seems to be an open– and·shut affair, but no motive can be f'Ound for· the murder. At· tempting to solve the case are Meredith Thorn, Bill Will'iams, and Benny Holland, assisted by two women, Ruby Lee Ellis and 1 Charla Cranford.
